So as of episode 11, I’m reading Young Justice toon fanfic like crazy, and while I’m (mostly) over the not-comic-book-YJness of it, every once in a while, I find Robin driving me crazy with his amalgam-ness of Dick and Tim.

So if DCAU!Robin is Timmy Todd, does that make YJ!Robin Dick Drake?  ‘Cause I am REALLY feeling a trippy sense of amalgamation here. Not only in the show, but in fic too.  

Like one moment he’ll be doing flips and sh*t with really, really bad puns, doing terribly evil things to the English language and I’ll be like “Yeah, that’s so totally Dick…” and then somebody will say something serious tinged with just a touch of dark humor, and Robin will, like, give this tiny genuine smile that just kind of flutters away as soon as it’s seen, and then will be back to MASK OF COOL, and I’m like “TIM!”

And then there’s the hacking. And Robin’s always been able to do the hacking thing, any Robin, but just the enjoyment from that particular thing, like he enjoys it just as much as physically kicking tail, to me, that’s Tim.  But then he will be snarking maniacally with Wally and I’m all “Dick!” and then he wants a Zesti ‘cause he doesn’t like Soder and I’m all “Tim!” And another moment he’ll be all happy-happy joy-joy helpful-like and I’m all “Dick!” and he’ll be all secret-ID PICTURE OF PARANOIA, and I’m like “Tim!”
